Nice 2 See The Carters & The Smiths At Tony Awards
Jay-Z, Will & Jada Pinkett-Smith were @ Radio City Music Hall last night as nominees @ the 64th annual Tony Awards. The triumvirate’s play, Fela! was nominated in 11 categories including Best Musical. Although the production took home three trophies, it lost the top honor to Memphis. Speakin' of The Smiths....
"The Karate Kid" has won a 1980's showdown at the box office against "The A-Team." Sony's remake of 1984's "The Karate Kid" debuted at No. 1 for the weekend with a whopping $56 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. The big-screen adaptation of the 1980s TV series "The A-Team" came in at less than half that, the 20th Century Fox release opening in second place with $26 million. After three weekends @ No. 1, DreamWorks Animation's "Shrek Forever After" slipped to No. 3 with $15.8 million.
"The Karate Kid" stars Jaden Smith as an American boy who moves with his mom to China, where he takes on a bully under the guidance of an unassuming martial-arts master (Jackie Chan). With his first lead role, 11-year-old Smith had an opening weekend that stacked up well against the track record of his superstar father, Will Smith, who has had only two debuts bigger than "The Karate Kid" ("I Am Legend" at $77.2 million and "Hancock" at $62.6 million). Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith are producers on "The Karate Kid." "It's like, `Who's the biggest star now, dad?'" said Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst for Hollywood.com. "It proves the box-office apple doesn't fall far from the money tree in that household."
Weekend Box Office
1. "The Karate Kid," $56 million.
2. "The A-Team," $26 million.
3. "Shrek Forever After," $15.8 million.
4. "Get Him to the Greek," $10.1 million.
5. "Killers," $8.2 million.
6. "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," $6.6 million.
7. "Marmaduke," $6 million.
8. "Sex and the City 2," $5.5 million.
9. "Iron Man 2," $4.6 million.
10. "Splice," $2.9 million.

Converse 2010 Fall JV Star Player
This season, the JV Star Player silhouette is back combining everything original, active and cool. Noted as the original mash up shoe when the Star Player style debuted in the 70s, these shoes merged Converse core DNA with the iconic Star Chevron logo. For Fall, updated materials and colorways mark each silhouette defining new product offerings. The Star Player Mid combines vintage sport with a rock ‘n roll twist, seen in styles of burnished nubuck and waxy suede. Styles are trimmed in leather and available in hues such as a darkened silver, tan/black, charcoal/green and blue/off white. For the Star Player Ox, uppers are shortened and shoes are again refined in burnished nubuck in black/brindle, charcoal/red and oatmeal/black. Trims are finished in smooth leather detailing with stained and polished outsoles and waxed cotton laces. Watch out for these in the coming weeks.

Converse Free Agent
For Fall 2010 comes the Converse Free Agent shoe, mixing modern style with a touch of Converse hoop history. Overall, a great shoe for serious off-court play. Part of the Malden collection (named for the East Coast city where Converse all began), the Free Agent shoe reverently reflects some of the most iconic Converse basketball footwear ever made. Think wildly popular ‘80s shoe, the Weapon, but with a modern profile, clean style and rich leathers. Add the ultra-iconic Star Chevron logo and this shoe has timeless Converse attitude, with a fresh, sleek design. Via: Hypebeast

Woman Files Lawsuit Against Citibank Claiming She Was Fired For Being Too Sexy :\
According to Lorenzana, she requested to be transfered to another branch in May 2009. After iniitally being turned down, her wish was granted in July 2009 when she was moved to the Rockfeller Center branch, but was fired in August 2009 for alleged poor job performance. Lorenzana has since landed another banking job. She says she has not changed her wardrobe and recieved no complaints from her new coworkers. She is suing for lost wages and emotional distress. In a statement, Citibank said they cannot comment on the suit in detail. But the company did state: "We believe this lawsuit is without merit and we will defend against it vigorously. [...] Citi is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion and providing a respectful environment in the workplace. We have a strong commitment to diversity and we do not condone, or tolerate, discrimination within our business for any reason."

DJ PREMIER & DJ PETE ROCK
Hip-hop in the early ’90’s was just beginning to come into its own. Several artists helped pave the way for what is now a multi-billion dollar business, however the pioneers of the movement – producers like Premier and Pete Rock – not only had to learn, but they also had to make it, the hard way. Nothing came easy for them and they certainly never enveloped themselves in shallow praise or adulation, especially if they hadn’t done anything to deserve it, much like some of the hip-hop artists of today’s generation do. In this video, Pete Rock and Premier get personal prior to a show at the Liquidroom in Shibuya, Tokyo where they delve into all sorts of personal traumas, discuss the competition that previously existed amongst each other and the hardships of embarking on a career path which, for both, had its fair share of ups and downs, burdens and blessings.

Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” Retro Pack
Following an outrage over the lack of Jordan Brand utilizing its iconic “Infrared” hue on the recent VI Retro, we see a special double pack of VI’s, scheduled to drop later this month. This upcoming release will see both a black and white version of the sneaker in its glorious Infrared colorway. Much like other dual-drops, the pack will slightly exceed the $300 price tag but should give those anxiously awaiting this retro some highly sought after satisfaction. Images of the upcoming release can be seen below, courtesy of Kix-Files.

Nike Air Zoom Barcelona
During the basketball portion of 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, the original USA Dream Team would make their mark both on the hardwood as well as the world of sneakers with a now iconic colorway comprised of white, blue, red and gold. And while the Air Force 180 worn by Charles Barkley and the Air Jordan VII worn by Michael Jordan are undoubtedly the most notable of the special make-ups for the Olympics, other models included the Air Ballistic High worn by David Robinson. In commemoration of the original Dream Team footwear collection, the Air Zoom Barcelona creates a hybrid of both the Air Force 180 and the aforementioned Air Ballistic High. The Nike Air Zoom Barcelona should be available at select retailers as part of Nike Basketball’s summer collection.
